Published on: 15 January, 2018
Mereani Moce graduated from Fiji National University in 1998 with a Diploma in Nursing and now has more than 20 years of experience in various health fields. These includ general surgery, medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, orthopedic surgery and as an oncology nurse. Currently she is based at Labasa Hospital as public health nurse.
Mereani is one of POLHN’s most active students. She has successfully completed more than 100 self-paced courses from POLHN and POLHN’s partner service provider Lippincott. She strongly believes her service delivery has improved massively after completing each course. She told POLHN: “To be honest, self-paced courses not only serve me with continuing education credits towards my annual licensing but they have also given me in-depth clinical knowledge and ways of improving patient safety and clinical outcomes”.
In her free time, Mereani enjoys reading articles on continuing professional development in healthcare and her learning goal is to complete at least two self-paced courses per week. Apart from being a bit of a bookworm, Mereani likes to engage herself with wide variety of outdoor activities with her family such as volleyball, swimming, and talking walks.
Mereani’s ambitious personality resonates in her ward and throughout the Labasa Hospital. She possesses great interest and passion for continuing professional development and coaches student nurses and nurses of all ages about the benefits of continuing professional development (CPD). She is a firm believer that CPD provides health workers with the capacity to improve their essential skills and knowledge.
