 Education opportunities in Guam

Guam health education revolves around three centres for higher education: the University of Guam, Pacific Islands University and Guam Community College. All offer courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.The University of Guam (UOG) is the island’s largest university, as well as one of the biggest of the Pacific Islands. It currently offers a wide variety of courses in subjects ranging from nursing and fine arts, to law and engineering, to teaching and mathematics. The university is also a partner of POLHN, offering courses via distance learning to people across the Pacific. 

Continued professional development (CPD) opportunities

Guam Community College offers a number of courses and extra training for people seeking to further their skills. This program is entitled Continuing Education and Workforce Development. Courses are available in person at the College and via distance, as well as health certificates, online training and room rental. The University offers successful professional development programs and hosts training sessions for businesses. The University’s POLHN courses can be undertaken via distance learning over the internet, or in person at Guam's new POLHN learning centre. This is located at the Guam Department of Public Health and Social Services. A number of Pacific universities offer POLHN courses and entire degrees, both at the undergraduate level.
