Meet our staff, Ms Shivala Singh. Shivala was appointed as the POLHN Country Coordinator and hails from the beautiful Islands of Fiji, currently residing in the capital, Suva. Shivala is a graduate from the University of the South Pacific and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and Marketing & Human Resource Management. Her passion for learning and development helps her in assisting students in identifying and achieving their goals through quality e-learning provided by POLHN. She gains tremendous job satisfaction from working in a diverse environment and providing useful tools to support students in their developmental journey. Committed to providing a way forward, Shivala is on a journey to drive positive and measurable transformation in the lives of health professionals in Fiji.

About: Suzianna Raza
Dr Suzianna Raza is the POLHN focal point for Sigatoka Hospital, in Fiji. She is originally from Sigatoka, where she currently works as a second year medical officer. Dr Raza also is in charge of continuing medical education in the subdivision.At the moment, Dr Raza is also in the process of completing her Master's in public health, with a focus on NCDs.
About: Jashneel Kumar
Jashneel Kumar is the POLHN focal point for Tamavua Rehabilition Centre in Fiji. In 2015, he completed a Bachelor of Nursing at Fiji National University, where he is currently undertaking a postgraduate certificate in Public Health. Today he works as a registered nurse at the rehabilitation unit of Tamavua Twomey Hospital.
About: Belinda Pene
Belinda Pene is the POLHN focal point for Nadi Hospital in Fiji. She has served as a nurse since 2002, and is currently the Acting Sister of the Women's and Children's Ward at Nadi Hospital.In 2001, Belinda obtained a Diploma in Nursing from the Fiji School of Nursing in Tamavua. She has also obtained a number of postgraduate qualifications from the University of Fiji: a Postgraduate Certificate in Nursing Management and Professional Standards (2016); a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Systems Research (2016); and a Master of Nursing (2017).In 2017, Belinda also obtained her certificate for participating in the POLHN Roadshow, a highly successful event that promoted POLHN across Fiji.
About: Namrta Devi
Namrta Devi is the POLHN focal point for Vunidawa Hospital in Fiji. She obtained an advanced diploma in nursing from Fiji National University in 2013, and later obtained two qualifications from the University of Fiji: a postgraduate certificate in nursing in 2016 and a Master in Nursing in 2017. Currently, she is employed by the Fiji Ministry of Health as a zone nurse at Vunidawa health centre. She has four years of both clinical and public health experience.
About: Fulori Leweni
Fulori Leweni is the POLHN focal point at Wainibokasi Hospital in Fiji, where she also works as a family planning nurse. Fulori graduated in 2002 with a Diploma in Nursing, and currently also has more than 15 years of experience as a registered nurse. She has also attained a certificate in sexual reproductive health management.

Sanjeshni Poonam Chandra is the POLHN focal point for Savusavu Hospital in Fiji, where she is the acting team leader of the mens and children's ward.Poonam achieved a Diploma in Nursing from Fiji National University in 2006, where she is currently also undertaking a bridging program in nursing. She also obtained a postgraduate certificate in human resource management from the University of the South Pacific.

About: Clare Whelan
Clare Whelan is the POLHN country coordinator for Tuvalu, where she currently also works as a health planning and management advisor. Clare has has also worked in health development programs in Fiji and Papua New Guinea, and has worked as a registered nurse around the world.As well as being a qualified registered nurse, Clare has obtained several Postgraduate and Masters qualifications in health-related fields. Her most recent is a Masters in International Public Health from Curtin University in Western Australia.
